Live Webinar: The Ultimate Guide to Classification: Basics, New Advancements, and Expert Tips

July 23, 2024 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm

$195

Are you looking for the most comprehensive 1-hour training on classification you can find? Then this webinar is for you! Covering classification from beginning to end, as well as the latest updates in the classification world, this is going to be a content rich event that will keep you learning (or refreshing) from start to finish. This webinar is a great starting place for someone new to classification or a refresher for classification pros. While the bases will be covered for areas like regulatory jurisdictions, controls lists, and the order of review, some of the latest changes to regulations and web tools will also be covered, providing a fresh look at an old staple for the trade compliance professional. This webinar will be jam-packed with information to refresh intermediate to advanced classification experts and get beginners started on the right foot.

An additional focal point of this webinar will be updates pertaining to classification changes. You may have already noticed the recent updates to the online Export Administration Regulations (EAR) by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Initially, these changes might seem unnecessary, leaving one questioning why they were implemented. However, true to its mission, the Department of Commerce is striving to enhance the Trade community’s experience by streamlining processes. With a little time and openness to change, you may find the new web tool powerful and helpful.

The learning goals of this webinar series include:

  • Covering the basics of export jurisdiction and classification determinations
  • Exploring essential concepts such as the order of review and various classification types
  • Familiarization with online tools available to assist in classification – including updates to the BIS website
